Black Sea Relief
After the Volgoneft tanker disaster in December 2024, Russian Rotarians set up volunteer stations on the Anapa coast, helping rescue oil-covered birds and clean the shoreline.
15 декабря 2024 года вблизи Керченского пролива потерпели крушение танкеры «Волгонефть-212» и «Волгонефть-239», перевозившие суммарно 9200 тонн мазута. В воду попало около 8000 тонн нефти — крупнейшая экологическая катастрофа на Черноморском побережье.
Российский Ротари оперативно отреагировал: в Анапе на пляже «40 лет Победы» был развёрнут пункт выдачи инвентаря для волонтёров, которые отлавливали замазученных птиц. Оборудованные палатки установили прямо на берегу.
Ротарианцы объявили сбор средств на закупку необходимого оборудования для волонтёров и призвали коллег из других клубов присоединиться к помощи. Акция получила широкий отклик по всей стране.
